And it was called my new empowering habit, I was doing something a little bit different, just wanting to see what the response would be to, to this particular hypnosis audio, which I love. And I'm going to talk about all the reasons why later. But I want to share with you that combined with what I'm going to teach you today, and the hypnosis audio that you have available to you, you are going to find that it's going to be easy for you to create new, empowering habits in your life.

So if you were like me, you might be rolling your eyes right now, I used to roll my eyes all the time, anytime anybody would talk about habits or I'd act like I was going to puke. Because I really truly didn't understand the power of habits.

I didn't understand that habits are the roadmap that get you to the results that you want in your life. And if you want something different in your life or in your business, then the key is to start training your brain to create those neural networks that allow the habit that you want in your life to become automatic.

So I want to share with you that in the month of January, we did habits in my membership. And it was a seven day habits challenge. And I'm going to share with you what I shared with everyone who participated in this challenge. And I think you're going to find that it's going to help you truly understand

how effortless it can be to train your brain for the kinds of habits that you want. Because as I said before, these habits are going to bring you the outcomes that you want in your life. And what I've learned is that everything is a habit, the way that we think the way that we feel, the way that we behave, the actions that we take, the actions that we don't take are all habits.

So I want you to think about that for a moment. And as I continue to teach, I think you'll begin to understand.

So what is a habit?

A habit is a decision that you're making time and time again, it gets repeated to the point where it becomes automated in your subconscious mind. And there are different kinds of habits like driving that and tying your shoes and riding a bike that are happening at an unconscious level. But we are specifically going to talk about goal based habits. So how are habits formed in the brain, our brains form neural pathways, connections between neurons that gets stronger and stronger, the more often we we perform a task. And when we perform a task enough times, we no longer have to think about how it's done. And that's when it becomes a habit.

And you may have heard of hebbs Law, neurons that fire together wire together.

So neuroplasticity, it's the brain's ability to learn and grow and your brain is going to learn how to embody this new habit that you want in your life.

And hypnosis is fantastic for accelerating neuroplasticity because you have deep focus and you are in relaxation.

So we're talking about the

goal based habits that we want in our life. And these goal based habits are designed to bring you a specific outcome as you do them.

Everything that you have, and everything that you don't have, is a matter of your habits.

Everything is about training yourself for the kinds of habits that you want. Because, as I said, and I'm going to say it all the way through this podcast, because repetition is the mother of all learning. These habits bring you the outcomes that you want in your life. And if you were like me, I did not understand that.

I thought, I really just had no clue. So I'm going to keep going. And I'll share more about this as I continue to move through this podcast. But I do just want to say that the hypnosis audio that you have access to in previous podcast episodes, is going to act like rocket fuel. And it's going to feel effortless as you create this new habit that you want in your life. So if you haven't already done so, I want to invite you to grab a pen and paper because I know that you're going to want to take notes. And this is the first thing that I'm going to ask you to write down. So just giving you a second to grab your pen and your paper.

When you find yourself going back into the past, telling an old story about why or how hard it is for you to create a new habit, I want you to stop. And I want you to bring your attention to this current moment. And I want you to say this, I am creating a new story. With this habit. I'm going to repeat that I am creating a new story with this habit.

Because here's what I want you to know, comparing yourself to the past, or reliving old stories does not serve you.

What it does, is it causes you to feel bad.

And feeling bad, does not feel good when you are creating your new habit.

And I know that that's common sense. But it's the truth. People will talk about their past and why it hasn't worked before.

So I want you just to bring your attention to this moment. And tell yourself a new story. I'm creating a new story with this new habit in my life. So I want to just ask you, what is the habit that you do want to create in your life? What do you want to put on autopilot in your beautiful brain.

And as you think about that, these habits that you want to create in your life, they don't have to all be big, huge habits. They can be little ones like making your bed every day or drinking eight glasses of water.

But I want you to choose if you are wanting to create a new habit in your life, I want you to start off easy by create by choosing just one.

And your habit might even be an internal habit, meaning your thoughts. And maybe you want to embody a new thought, a new belief into your subconscious. And it might be something like I love myself, or I am worthy, or I am unstoppable. So you can choose an internal habit, I did not know that. I thought habits were all external. Because I just didn't understand the brain.

And I didn't understand habits. Or you might want to create an external habit.

So I want you just to think about what habit do you want to create on autopilot.

And we're starting with one habit. people make the mistake of jumping in and saying I want to go to the gym, I want to lose 10 pounds I want to you know fit into my size eight jeans or whatever it is. We want to just choose one habit and maybe it's just walking every day for 20 minutes, which is the habit that I have created in my life.

So what I want you to know is that it takes energy for your brain to learn this new habit. So we want to keep it as simple as possible. We want to choose one habit

and with this habit

I really want to invite you to get clear on your vision, meaning, what are you going? What are you going to do? And how many times a day are you going to do it? Maybe your habit is breathing, and you want to practice deep breathing five times a day, I don't know what it is for you, but getting clear on what it is. And how many times a day that you want to do it. Remember, we want to start off slow and easy.

And then when I'm working with clients, or like, with the membership, when I did the habits challenge, I asked people, why do you want this habit?

What is this habit going to do for you?

And maybe it's losing weight? But why? Why do you want to lose the weight?

Is it for you to feel good about yourself? So why are you why are you really doing what you're doing.

And it could be that you just want to have a better relationship with yourself.

I just want you to think about this question for a moment.

What is it going to take for you to create this habit on autopilot? I want you to think about this. Because this is where I used to get mucked up all the time.

It didn't know what it was going to take for me to create my habits on autopilot. And this is really important.

Because what I'm going to share with you may transform everything for you, like it did for me. Because I did not understand that who I had to be, in order to create this habit was committed. I had to be committed to creating this habit in my life. It's not about what I have to do going to say that again. It's not about what I have to do.

It's about who do I have to be?

I know that's probably clicking for you. Can you maybe you've never heard this before.

But these are known as ways of being character traits. They're also known as values. And you could look up values or ways of being on Google. But for the sake of time, I'm going to share with you what has worked for me when I am creating new habits in my life.

So the first thing that I have to be is responsible.

I have to be responsible for my actions.

I have to be responsible for my thoughts.

Or you can say I get to be responsible for my actions and my thoughts

and my behaviors.

Who do I have to be to create this habit in my life? Again, going back to being committed,

which means dedicated. This was a missing piece for me.

I was always more committed to my old stories to the past than I was and it's unconscious, you don't you're not aware of what you're doing until you become aware. I was always more committed to that than I was to Who do I have to be in this moment in order to create this empowering habit in my life.

So responsible, committed self integrity.

That means that I do what I say I'm going to do.

And this is a big one. Because when you have self integrity, you learn to trust yourself, you know, that you are going to follow through.

So self integrity is a big deal. And then lastly,

what do I have to be consistent

Which means even when I don't feel like it, I follow through.

And really the key is to decide every single day that you're going to make decisions that support your habit.

So your beliefs, your programming, your habits are located in your subconscious mind. And I want you to know that your beliefs and your programming are what is driving your decisions and actions.

Okay, so your beliefs and your programming or what is driving your decisions and your actions, and then habits and just said habits come from your subconscious mind. The habit brain is also known as the reptilian brain, and is the oldest part of our brain. And the reptilian brain believes that every habit that you have is a survival mechanism. Therefore, your brain wants you to do the habit, your brain's ultimate goal is to keep you safe. And your brain's definition of safety is just familiarity. It's just the known. So I want you to think about the way that you're living your life right now. And the habits that you have, the thoughts that you have about your habits, the thoughts that you have in general, I want you to think about your behaviors.

I want you to know that your brain, your habits, brain, your reptilian brain, some people call it the lizard brain is deeming these habits

So the way that you eat, the way that you take care of your body, your self talk, it doesn't matter to your brain, if the way that you're living your life is healthy, or unhealthy, empowering, or disempowering. Your brain is deeming the way that you are living your life right now. As safe, it is your safe, it is your familiar, it is your known. So I want you to know what is happening in your brain. Once you decide you want to create this new habit in your life, your new habit that you want to create walking, eating better, whatever it is, for you saying I'm worthy, I love myself, I want you to know that it's unknown, and it's unsafe to your brain. So just knowing that is so incredible, because now you know, okay,

my brain likes the unknown. So I'm probably going to have some kickback, my brain is going to give me a little bit of fuss a little bit of sass. As I create this new empowering habit. The reason why I want you to know that is because a lot of times people begin to personalize it, they take it personal, I'm just not the kind of person who can create this new habit in my life. And it's not true. I just want you to know what is happening in your brain that your brain is deeming your new habit that you want, as unsafe, okay, and I'm going to talk about ways to move through that. But first, I want to talk about urges and desires. Because you might have urges, you might have desires. And that urge is to remind you to get into your habit. And when you get into that habit, your brain believes that it's doing its job, and it's just helping you to survive. So you might have urges, and your brain is sending that to you as a reminder. But here's what I want you to know. It's normal,

it's normal to have urges and desires. Do not I repeat, do not let your emotions dictate your actions,

your urges our emotions. And I know, everybody knows that I choose a sober life. But there was a lot of urges and a lot of cravings I had when I first decided to choose a sober life, but I want you to be aware, you do not let you do not have to let your emotions dictate your actions, urges, our emotions. So the reason why I share this with you is because I used to let my emotions run my life.

And so when you're creating your new habit, you're going to be emotional. It's normal. Okay, it's normal in the beginning, but you do not have to let your emotions dictate whether you get into cravings Virgenes urges, or whether you decide to do the habit or not. Okay,

So here's something that I tell my clients, excuse me, and I told the membership,

and the people who are participating in the challenge, this is a tool that I use. And this is what I say to my brain, thank you brain, for trying to protect me.

I choose to focus on and you can add in your new habit, eating healthy, walking, whatever it is for you.

So the good news is that you have your prefrontal cortex, the thinking part, the analytical part of your mind, that actually has to decide whether or not you take the action. So what I mean by that is that you have a choice, you get to choose.

So here's what you need to know, when you are creating a new habit, you're gonna feel all those kinds of feelings. You now understand that the brain is deeming this habit, the habit that you're probably doing, that's not empowering as survival, that your new habit that you want in your life is the unknown, your brain doesn't like the unknown, and that your brain and your body are going to be experiencing a different set of hormones, and chemicals that act like a seesaw. Remember a seesaw. When we were growing up in those childhood playgrounds, you'd be on one end and your friend would be on the other and you'd go up, they'd go down, then you'd go down and they'd go up. So you're you might feel like, you're on a seesaw, when you are creating a new habit in your life, or when you are

leaving behind a disempowering habit. So if you are not engaging in the disempowering habit anymore, you're not going to feel that dopamine, that dopamine hit that feel good neurochemical transmitter. And then this is why you begin to feel anxiety.

And you might feel lazy, you might feel a lack of motivation. And guess what, it's totally normal.

Do not let your emotions dictate your actions.

Okay, so you get the choice, you get to choose, you get to choose to change. And now you're understanding a little bit about what's happening in that beautiful brain of yours. So the first tool that I mentioned, was the tool where I told my brain, thank you brain for trying to protect me, I choose to focus on and then you add in your new empowering habit. And if you're leaving behind an old habit, you can say I choose to feel good, or I choose to focus on feeling good in my body, whatever it is that you want your why member your why.

And you'll want to say this little tool whenever you're feeling anxiety, or doubt, or fear. So anytime you find yourself in these emotions, you're just going to want to share with your brain that thank you for doing your job. But I'm in charge here, and I'm focusing on my new habit. And then you just do it. Remember, Mel Robbins talks about the 54321 you just do it, you are not going to go into overthinking. Because when you go into overthinking, you start to talk yourself out of it. And what you are doing is you are just doing it because you're committed yourself integral, you're consistent, and you're responsible.

So, in my membership, I do have a library of audios that people get access to. And I have an audio called just do it now for this exact reason. Because people people will use this audio for for procrastination. And it's the same thing. So what I want to say is that procrastination is a habit, the brain deems it as survival. So whether or not you think of procrastination as a habit or not, it is your brain is deeming it as survival and you do something different. And that's the unknown. And so when you do that thing that's different remembering that the brain doesn't like it. So that little hypnosis audio that I created that people have access to in my membership, just do it. Just do it now just do it. Just do it now so that we don't go into

overthinking and we just accomplished the thing that we want to accomplish. Even when you don't feel like it, you just do it because remember, I used to let my emotions run my life. And what I'm teaching you, even though you may not realize it yet, is how to become the master of your emotions. Remember, a habit is a decision that is repeated. It's a repeated decision. It has to do with repetition, and doing it over and over, until it becomes automated in your subconscious.

habit formation has to do with being in the right state of mind, and being able to control your state, the state of your mind and your body. It's about getting rest and drinking lots of water, and being kind and loving to yourself as you create this new empowering habit in your life.

So the hypnosis audio that I talked about earlier, my new empowering habit helps you to regulate your thoughts and your feelings as you're creating this habit. That's one of the reasons why it feels effortless. So I do want to say this about about the hypnosis audio, you can create a habit without a hypnosis audio. But having that hypnosis audio helps you in so many ways. So and I'm going to talk about all the ways here in just a moment. But I really want to encourage you to listen to this hypnosis audio if you haven't already done so because you will see the difference when you're creating a habit. So nothing in your life will change if nothing changes if you don't take the action. So you have access to this hypnosis audio and I recommend listening to it at least once a day. Because what we're doing is we're accessing the subconscious mind where your reptilian brain is your lizard brain, your habit brain, which creates change. So what we're doing is we're accessing your subconscious mind where your beliefs are, your attitudes, your feelings, and your habits. Just like what I said, when we started out, you guys are learning the science here, your habits are located in your subconscious mind. So we begin to rewire your thoughts and your beliefs around your habit.

So remember, the neuroplasticity, we're creating new neural pathways, essentially, I want you to imagine like a new pathway to your habit, which allows for the creation of this habit to be so much easier in your mind and you and in your body. And then we are mentally visualizing the outcomes that you want in your life. We are teaching your brain, we are telling your brain what your new normal is, what your new known is. Because your subconscious mind doesn't know that it's not real, what you are imagining when you are in hypnosis,

we are telling your subconscious mind that the habit that you want in your life is safe, that it's safe for you to have this habit, that it's safe for this habit to be you're familiar, you're known. So your brain, automating this habit, so that it becomes part of your new survival mechanism from your brains perspective. And then you're learning to manage your energy with your thoughts and your emotions. And what's so powerful about this particular hypnosis audio is it's a is that it's an NLP pattern called the swoosh. And I'll do an nlp hypnosis later on. But this, this swish pattern is accessing certain neural chemicals in your brain. So what we're doing is we're visualizing the old habit. And remember the dopamine response that you have attached to that old habit. And in the swish pattern, you're visualizing your whole old habit, and then you're visualizing your new habit. you're visualizing your old habit with the old dopamine response, and then we're attaching it to your new habit, a new dopamine response. Hopefully explain that. Okay, I get so excited. So it's a total brain hack. And that's essentially what I'm finding as I continue to do research and understand the science behind hypnosis is that we are allowing your brain to imagine what your new normal your new habit looks like, and feels like. And then we put it on repetition. As you listen to your hypnosis audio every day, we create those new neural pathways. I mean, there's

So many benefits to listening to this hypnosis audio. So it helps to make it easy and effortless for you as you create this habit that you want in your life. So I just want to go over a couple things here. Have a plan, set yourself up for success. get your day started right? Before you even get out of bed, set your intention for the day. Ask yourself how you want to feel throughout the day as you create this new habit. Listen to your hypnosis, audio, do your habit.

And whenever I'm doing something new, a new habit, I do a commitment agreement. And it's just a commitment agreement where I look at myself, I look at myself in the mirror with my hand over my heart, and I commit to myself and I commit to doing this habit.

So you don't have to do that. But I love it. I love doing that I love looking into my eyes and telling myself I'm committed. I'm integral and I'm self responsible, that I'm responsible, and that I love myself. And then I'm worthy of these incredible habits that I want to create in my life.

So the other part about this is, you know, going back to your plan, you know, do you have an umbrella, like I do. If you know your new habit is walking is your home free of, of sugar and cookies. So just recognizing that part of a big part of your success is your plan. And here's what's really important as well, is that after you complete your habit,

you acknowledge yourself for doing it.

You tell yourself what a badass you are, how unstoppable you are how much courage it takes for you to create this new habit in your life. And then what you're also doing is you're releasing dopamine, you are rewarding yourself, and your brain loves to be rewarded. So if I were in your shoes, and this is what I do, I celebrate my wins. It's almost as if you're your own personal cheerleader, your own personal coach, I'm celebrating my wins all throughout the day. Because I know that my brain loves it. And I know that when I'm acknowledging myself, I'm validating myself. And I'm learning to trust myself. So there's this whole incredible domino effect, just from celebrating yourself. So the last thing that I encourage everyone to do when they're creating a new habit is to release the judgment. Don't speak negatively about yourself, especially as we create this habit that you want in your life. Are you being kind and loving and supportive to yourself as you change. So I just encourage people to, to release the judgment, release the old stories.

And we're just about to wrap wrap up here. But I want to say that one of the things that I love to do is have my calendar. And every day, I cross off, that I've completed my new habit and I've listened to my hypnosis audio. And then at the end of the day, I, you know, just tell myself what a good job that I'm doing. And I practice gratitude. And, you know, I just take a moment to really celebrate myself. So

as you begin to, to create this empowering habit in your life, the goal is to help you to understand that your overall identity is changing. And your identity is the way that you see yourself the way that you feel about yourself. And you might be a person who wants to feel healthy.

You know, maybe you were a person that was sick, chronically sick,

chronic pain, maybe you're a person who had chronic pain. Maybe you're a person who didn't feel good in your body, maybe you were a person like me, who who drank all the time, at one point. It's not who I am today. But for a long time. My identity was that of a sick person, an unhealthy person. So as we do this work, again, it's one step at a time, but you begin to feel differently about yourself. You begin to be proud of who you are. Remember, this isn't about Yes, it is about what you do because you want to create the new habit. But it's about who you are as a person as you create these empowering habits in your life. And you feel good and you feel just happy and healthy and worthy and deserving.
