Hello unstoppables of the world, you're listening to the unstoppable mind podcast. And today we are going to be talking about your bank account. Specifically, does your bank account trigger you?

Unknown Speaker  0:17
And if so you are so in the right place. If you want to learn how to feel differently about your bank account, stay tuned.

Unknown Speaker  0:30
Hello, unstoppables of the world. I'm your host, Mary Lou Rodriguez. And welcome to the unstoppable mind podcast. I just want to say thank you for all of the new listeners for all of the people who've downloaded my podcast episodes. For everyone who's subscribed, I am truly honored. I am so grateful. And if you can't tell, I absolutely love to serve and to educate and to teach. So today we're going to talk about our bank accounts. Because I had somebody reached out to me in my Facebook Messenger, or they sent me a DM and it said, Mary Lou,

Unknown Speaker  1:16
I am triggered by my bank account. How do I feel rich with only $200? And that really is such a good question. And let me just give you some background information. So in last week's podcast episode, episode number 19, I talked about how to not be a victim to your money stories and your money circumstances. And towards the end of the podcast, I made a remark that if you can feel rich with $200, in your bank account, then you have changed your relationship with money.

Unknown Speaker  1:52
So I want to talk about that.

Unknown Speaker  1:54
And this episode is going, what I'm going to do is I'm going to help you be able to look at how you can have a different perspective when it comes to looking at your bank account. Because what happens when people look at their bank account is that they automatically see what they don't have.

Unknown Speaker  2:17
And I used to do that, too.

Unknown Speaker  2:20
So instead, we are going to be shifting your perspective to see how much you do have versus what you don't have? Or how little you have.

Unknown Speaker  2:36
So shifting your perspective to see how much is there? Versus how little is there in your bank account? Those are two completely different perspectives.

Unknown Speaker  2:49
So then what happens is that

Unknown Speaker  2:52
you look at your bank account, you notice how much is not there? And then you make it mean something?

Unknown Speaker  3:01
So what do you make your bank account number, the amount in your bank account mean?

Unknown Speaker  3:07
I'm going to give you just a moment.

Unknown Speaker  3:10
If you were like me, you might have said I'm a loser. I suck. I don't know how to attract wealth, what am I doing wrong? I only got this and just all of the stories. So you make it mean something you make that amount mean something probably that you're broke.

Unknown Speaker  3:32
And what I want you to know is right there, right there. That is your conditioning. That is your programming.

Unknown Speaker  3:44
So what if you made it mean something different?

Unknown Speaker  3:49
What if you could look at your bank account, and you could see how much is there regardless of the amount. And then you can make it mean, whatever you wanted?

Unknown Speaker  4:01
What if you can make it mean that you are rich? Or maybe for you the word is wealthy or abundant?

Unknown Speaker  4:10
What if you can make it mean that

Unknown Speaker  4:13
regard regardless of your bank account?

Unknown Speaker  4:18
Because this is you, training your brain, conditioning your brain to believe something different.

Unknown Speaker  4:29
And this is really powerful stuff simple. It's so simple, and so powerful, because this is how we reprogram our subconscious. This is how we train our brain to believe something different. This is us taking that conditioning that programming, that box that I talked about last time off our heads.

Unknown Speaker  4:51
So here's what I want you to know about money. And maybe I've talked about this before I've done so many episodes now.

Unknown Speaker  5:00
I don't really remember, maybe I haven't. But I want to share with you my experience of money and how I used to feel about money. So when I used to think about money, I had anxiety. I had habituated anxiety and stress, when I would think about money. And what that means is that my body, my jaw, would be tight and clenched, my shoulders would be tight, and my heart would start to palpitate a little bit faster, my body would go into stress, it would go into fight, flight, or freeze. So then I would think about my bank account, and my body knew to get stressed. Now, this is all happening unconsciously, I had no conscious awareness that this was going on. All I knew was I hated looking at my bank account, that it triggered that out of me, and I would get stressed out, and then it became a pattern, it became a habit. So what I programmed in, I thought of money, I would get anxiety, then I would feel it in my body. And then I would check my bank account. And then my brain knew, through repetition and consistency, it created this habit, money equals anxiety. I had I had habituated the response. And again, I did not have conscious awareness of this habit.

Unknown Speaker  6:34
So if you find that you are stressed out, when you look at your bank account, what I would recommend is activating your parasympathetic nervous system. When you activate your parasympathetic nervous system, it turns the stress response off.

Unknown Speaker  6:55
Your parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for releasing healing neuro chemicals from your brain, like oxytocin, dopamine, nitric oxide, and endorphins. So the question then becomes, how do you turn on your parasympathetic nervous system. And there are so many different ways to do this. There's tapping, there's box breathing, there's just deep breathing. But I want to share with you a tool that I learned from Melissa tears. And this tool is called shifting out into peripheral vision. So when we shift into our peripheral vision, we naturally slip into a parasympathetic response.

Unknown Speaker  7:50
And what it does is it stops the internal dialogue in our head. And what's so great about this tool is that you can practice it anywhere, you can practice it, before you look at your bank account, you can practice it while you're looking at your bank account, you can practice it after you look at your bank account. So let me tell you how it works. If you can, I want you to follow my instructions. And if not, you can just replay this episode, what I want you to do is I want you to focus on something doesn't matter can be anything but I want you just to focus on something that's in front of you.

Unknown Speaker  8:32
Without moving your eyes, keep focusing.

Unknown Speaker  8:37
And then I want you to become aware of all of the space around whatever it is that you're staring at.

Unknown Speaker  8:46
And I want you to shift out,

Unknown Speaker  8:49
I want you to become more aware of the space that's on either side of you.

Unknown Speaker  8:55
It's almost as if you could reach for the space behind you. So you're shifting out into your peripheral vision.

Unknown Speaker  9:05
And then I want you to bring back your focus on to whatever it was that you were looking at.

Unknown Speaker  9:12
So most people notice that when they practice this little tool that's so simple, their body gets Calm, calm and relaxed, and then their mind goes quiet. And you can do this anywhere, anytime that you're feeling anxiety or stress. And in my world, we call this getting into state or getting into a relaxed state. So all you have to do is find a focal point and shift out

Unknown Speaker  9:48
and it feels as if you are pressing a pause button. And when we press the pause bus button and shift out

Unknown Speaker  9:59
then you

Unknown Speaker  10:00
can allow those stress chemicals, that anxiety

Unknown Speaker  10:05
to dissipate that stress to dissipate. And then what happens is that you have this relaxed state where you can make a better choice, you can choose how you want to feel about your bank account about the amount in your bank account from a calm, relaxed state.

Unknown Speaker  10:34
And this interrupts that patterned response, that habit that was unconscious. And this might be you, this may be the first time that you've ever heard this before. And I want you to know, it's totally normal. It's not conscious. And it's not your fault. You've just patterned you've made it a habit, that when you think about money, you might go into anxiety. And this was me for years. And I had no clue.

Unknown Speaker  11:09
So let's recap.

Unknown Speaker  11:12
One, getting into a relaxed state, before checking your bank account,

Unknown Speaker  11:19
to when you look at your bank account, you focus on how much you do have,

Unknown Speaker  11:29
even if it's $47, there is there's so much there, there's $47, there, you're not in the red, you can buy a cup of coffee, you could get a few groceries, focus on what you do have.

Unknown Speaker  11:50
And then what happens inside of your brain is that you are automatically teaching, you're automatically training your brain to focus on the abundance in your life, regardless of the amount that's in your bank account.

Unknown Speaker  12:10
And then

Unknown Speaker  12:12
you can choose to feel rich, wealthy, abundant, whatever the word is for you. For me, it was rich, you can choose to feel rich, regardless of the amount.

Unknown Speaker  12:29
