Hi, everyone, my name is Mary Lou Rodriguez. And I want to welcome you to the unstoppable mind Podcast. I'm so excited that you're here that you're joining me. And I'm really excited to talk about fear. But before I dive in, for those of you who don't know me, again, my name is Mary Lou Rodriguez. And I help people train their brain so that their thinking can align with their greatest success, and so that their brain believes it. And when your brain believes it, you will see it in your life, you're going to hear me say that in so many different ways on each of these podcasts. But today, I want to talk about fear. And I wonder if you could see fear as your friend. I wonder if you can feel fear as your friend. And I hope that by today's podcast by the end of the podcast that I've helped you change your story with fear. And for those of you who know me, for those of you who don't know me, I've been on a transformation journey. I'm always growing, I'm always learning. And I'm always learning new awarenesses about myself. And recently, I had a discovery with fear that I want to share with you, because it really helped me understand what was going on in my brain and in my body. So I want to share that my business model. So I see clients on my master hypnotherapist and I see clients one to one. And my business model is beginning to change. So I used to see four to five clients a day. And that was my business model. And as I'm growing, I'm realizing that I'm being called to serve in a bigger way to serve a bigger audience. And so I created a membership called the unstoppable mind membership. Of course, no one's surprised. The Unstoppable mind. And it's absolutely fantastic. And I'm having such a blast, teaching people really how to trust themselves, and how to live their unstoppable lives. And I was having this nagging feeling in my stomach, it's, that's the best way to describe it. And, and the feeling was along the lines of, you know, you're not working hard enough, Mary Lou, because again, as I shared, I used to see four to five clients a day, I have a pattern, that I must work hard in my life in order to have the results that I want to have. And, and I was I was working very hard. And I was working so hard that I was burning myself out and I was going into overwhelm. And I decided to slow down and to pause, and to be in what I'm calling creation mode. Right now I am creating tons of content. I'm working on a book. I'm working on this podcast, and I'm working on just different projects masterclasses just different ways to serve the world. And my brain, my beautiful brain is saying, hey, Mary Lou, this isn't what we do. What we do is we see clients one to one, what we do is we see four to five clients a day. So my brain is doing its job. It's keeping me in the safe and in the familiar. I know you've heard that before and you'll continue to hear it because I want you to understand what's really going on in our in our minds. And by doing all of these new things. This is not familiar for my brain. My brain doesn't know what to expect, my brain is in the unknown. And so I am experiencing fear, afraid of these new things, afraid of what my life might look like what the outcomes might be, maybe, you know, and I've talked about this before, like letting go of the success that's attached to the projects that I'm doing and focusing on serving, but it's a transformation, it's a process. And so I didn't feel this way, when I first started out, and I've shared, you know, just the whole idea of letting go of success has made such a difference in my life. And my focus is on serving. But again, going back to my brain, my brain is just going back to the safe and to the familiar. And I've heard my mentor share once, that women who are in abusive relationships, stay in those relationships, even though they're not healthy, and they're not safe. And that is because it is what they know. And this is truth, I saw it with my own mom, and her relationship. And even though my mom was not happy, she was not happy. And even though the relationship was completely unhealthy, she stayed. And now I really understand why growing up, I didn't, but now I do. So I understand what is going on in the brain, I understand that my brain is telling me that, hey, Mary Lou, when you work with four or five clients a day, you're guaranteed a certain amount of income. And if I were to listen to that voice, that voice would absolutely keep me in the safe. Keep me in the familiar. And keep me plains small. So as I've shared, what goes on in the brain, is that we have our brain is this powerful system that keeps us protected. And if you're a dreamer, and if you have a big vision, and you know that you're meant to do something amazing in the world, and you are experiencing fear, that is totally normal. Your brain system is finding evidence that appears real. And we call that fear. No, I've heard that a million times finding evidence that appears real and that really didn't do a whole lot for me. I was like, Yeah, okay. And so, I want to share with you my breakdown, I'm going to show you how to get unblocked from your fear. And really, my intention is that you befriend fear. So the first thing that I do is I understand that fear isn't really real, it's just false evidence appearing real. But to in I shared with you, that didn't really resonate with me, but it helped me it kind of gave me some framework. But what really did resonate with me is that fear is just something that saying, hey, Mary Lou, look here, you've got some kind of limiting belief that is popping up for you. And most people when they have a fear, like me, you don't necessarily lean into your fear. And ask your fear. Okay, fear, what is it that you need? What are you trying to say to me? So leaning in and asking your fear? What are you saying? What do you need? And what if in that moment, you could begin to see fear as your friend because that totally shifted it for me. I was like my friend, okay, my friend is trying to protect me, my friend has some sort of belief. And that's why it's coming up in my body and I'm feeling the butterflies in my stomach. So what if you could see fear as your friend. I'm going to talk about different tools. You know, I use hypnosis, of course, and you can go to my website and you can purchase an hypnosis, audio on befriending fear. But for the sake of right now, I want to just walk you through a hypnosis journey that I have on befriending fear. And I've already gone through two steps with you leaning in and then asking what is it that you need? So once I understood that fear was a limiting belief, and I heard what it was saying to me, and it was in this is what what it said to me when I leaned in it, said, Mary Lou, I'm afraid we're going to be Pour. And when I heard that, and when I understood what I was really afraid of, I literally laughed out loud because that is so not true for me. But that's what my fear was saying, I'm afraid that we are going to be poor. And it makes sense. And as you get to know me, and as I do these podcasts, I'll talk more about my upbringing, but I grew up poor. So it's no surprise, I mean, anybody can probably guess that. Because I'm not seeing four to five clients a day. And I'm not working hard in the way that I used to because I used to grind. My brain is saying, hey, wait a minute, you're doing something different. And now we're going to be broke our circle of people. So I want you to just think about, what is it that your fear is really saying? And asking your fear? What is it that you need? Because that's what I did? What is it that you need, my fear needed to be reassured. So I told myself, that it's safe, it's safe for me to slow down, that it's safe for me to serve in the way that I'm being called, that it's safe for me to create new content, new ideas. And when I said that, like it felt like 100 pounds had been lifted off my shoulders, and the pit in my stomach was gone. And so what I want to share and remind you is that the way that you feel is not your fault, it's your brain perceiving the unknown as a threat. And so in order for your brain to perceive your dream as not a threat, so you don't feel that pit in your stomach, so that you don't get into procrastination, or perfectionism, which I've done, break down the fear, get really curious. And then once you understand the fear, I want, I want to teach you how to take it a step further, I want to teach you how to train your brain to see your dream as safe and familiar. Because this is how you can really create that momentum and move forward in the way that you want to. So as I said, I do hypnosis, that's what my jam is, of course, and hypnosis is like rocket fuel, it's the gas to your transformation, it just happens at a quicker pace. And again, you can purchase that on my website. But I also want to share this tool with everyone. Since I know the brain science of success, I want to share with you decide right now, in this very moment, as you are listening to me, I want you to decide that you are committing to your dream. And I want you to say that either out loud, or in your mind, but with so much conviction that you are committing to your dream. And number two, show your brain in advance what your amazing dream looks like. So showing your brain your results, the results of your dream before they even happened in real life. So you're teaching your brain, you're teaching your brain in a very relaxed way through visualization. Everybody's heard of visualization, and it is so powerful. But you're showing your brain what success looks like, what it looks like to have accomplished your dream. And this is also what we call manifesting. And I'm going to do a whole episode on this because most people are trying to get to point B, and they're not manifesting from point B, they're manifesting in between point A and point B, and I'm gonna talk about that later. And what you're doing is you're painting a picture for your brain. And when you paint this picture for your brain, it's so real, it's already done. And when it's already done, your brains perspective, you're repeating this so often that your brain starts to feel that it's safe. And then it doesn't fight you anymore. And when your brain doesn't fight you anymore, it starts working on your behalf. It's created that pathway, that success pathway to your dream. And it's like driving, it's like when you first learn to drive you're scared. But after driving repeatedly, it became automatic. So you can now show your brain. And yes, remember your brain is trying to protect you. It's trying to keep you safe. But you can now see fear as a friend. It's just an opportunity. It's just a step. stone. And when you've leaned into your fear and you've unpacked it and you've reassured yourself, practice your visualization. And the best times to practice our first thing in the morning, so right when you open your eyes, seeing your dream already having been accomplished. So working from that point B, because that's you training your brain, that your dream is safe. And then your brain starts to work for you. So if you can't visualize first thing in the morning, visualize at night when you get into bed. Alright, everyone, fear is your friend. And that's what I want to leave you with today. So I'll see you next time. Thank you for joining me.
